ETS Navigator, a Rotterdam-based company providing emission rights services to the maritime industry, has secured a strategic investment from First Dutch. This investment comes with renewed support from Docklab Ventures and the Port of Rotterdam Authority.
The investment enables ETS Navigator to accelerate its growth, expand its operations in Europe and open a Singapore office to serve Asian markets. Boy Sleddering, former COO of Rabo Carbon Bank has been appointed as the new CEO. Co-Founder Albert de Haan will transition to the role of chairman for ETS Navigator.
ETS Navigator’s intuitive dashboards help manage financial risk exposure across fleets and chartering portfolios; its EUA procurement services come with minimized thresholds and price transparency. All this in order to help entrepreneurial shipowners of all sizes to navigate through the complexity of emission rights in the EU so that they can focus on running their business.
New strategic investor First Dutch shares ETS Navigator’s vision that every shipowner, regardless of size, should be able to participate in the energy transition. First Dutch adds deep industry connections and knowledge within the Maritime sector through its family of companies.
Boy Sleddering, the new CEO, brings a proven track record in building carbon market businesses and driving international growth. Complementing the founding partners Albert de Haan and Docklab Ventures, this new partnership aims to build a leading venture that effectively bridges the gap between the maritime industries and carbon markets.
The recent developments from IMO’s MEPC83, which are expected to be formalized later this year, further underscore the urgency of ETS Navigator’s mission to simplify compliance for shipowners and charters, allowing them to focus on their core business.
Peter Goedvolk, Chairman & CEO First Dutch
“ETS Navigator is uniquely positioned to connect the dots in the maritime industry and is poised to make a significant contribution to both the digital and decarbonization efforts of the industry. Their software with EUA market access enables shipowners to focus on what really matters: streamlining their business. We want to contribute to the company’s growth and have strong believes in the freshly appointed CEO, team and their vision. Moreover, we see a clear strategic fit with the rest of our Family of Companies”.
Albert de Haan, Co-Founder ETS Navigator
“I’ve founded ETS Navigator based on a vision to empower shipowners and charterers in a complex environment of EU sustainability regulations. With the reputation and network of First Dutch, the freshly appointed CEO and tech savvy top engineers from Docklab we can realise this vision”.
Janjoost Jullens, Partner Docklab Ventures
“First Dutch is deeply rooted in the global maritime industry, has an entrepreneurial spirit and is heavily based on family values. This makes it a perfect match for us as a venture builder and for the type of company we want ETS Navigator to become. Our new CEO Boy Sleddering has already been a driving force in this new partnership, and we are very happy to have found the right leader to drive ETS Navigator to its next stages.’
Boy Sleddering, CEO ETS Navigator
“I’m impressed with the mission driven culture, knowledge and capability of the ETS Navigator team. I’m very much looking forward to help global shipowners, small or big, in becoming a part of the energy transition”.
